Easy Tips For Your Spring Fundraiser

Spring Fundraiser

If you and your child need some extra tips to gear up for this spring’s school fundraiser, here are some ideas that will make your fundraising go smoothly and profitably.

Warm weather means fundraiser season is upon us!  If you and your child need some extra tips to gear up for this spring’s school fundraiser, here are some ideas that will make your fundraising go smoothly and profitably.

Compile A List

The first thing you need to do when preparing for your fundraiser is to compile a list of people to reach out to.  Make a long list of family, friends, co-workers, etc.  It’s okay to think outside the box and add your neighbors, workout friends,  and people that you know from clubs.  No list is too long, so keep brainstorming!

Set Your Goal and Keep It Going

You have an idea of what your fundraising goal is, but once you’ve hit it, why stop there?  Keep it going!  You’ve already come this far, so let’s see how much farther you can push yourself.  Go for the highest number you can.  Don’t stop too soon and cut yourself short!

Make It Personal

We are living in a golden age of technology which means communication becomes increasingly less personal and more automated.  Be sure to add your personal touch to everything you do in your fundraising.  This is important throughout the entire fundraising process.  Craft handwritten notes and send them to your potential donors.  People like to see handwritten notes because it lets them know you’ve taken extra time and care in your efforts.

Face-to-Face

Let your social side kick into high gear.  Host dinner parties, go to local events, and volunteer as much as you can.  This is a great way to get to know more than just your close friends and nearest neighbors.  Inviting your potential donors into your home for an elegant cocktail party or hosting a casual backyard barbeque are great ways to let people know you’re committed to your community.

Send Thank You Notes

You cannot go overboard when making your fundraising efforts as personal as possible.  Just like your initial handwritten notes, it would be best to follow up after the donations are in with handwritten thank you notes.  Don’t let thank you notes become a relic of the past.  Everyone enjoys a handwritten thank you.  It is the absolute best way to show your gratitude.
